The way the sky looks when it's cold
And you were with me

Tan Liu Shi, Jolies (1E1)

He walked on the bloody fields outside of the city. He squatted down and touched the ground. Blood. Tears rolled down his cheeks and he swept it away angrily. He stood up suddenly and stared at the faraway smoke. Fire… And he ran towards the woods.

The princess sat on the wet ground, wearing her robes. She studied the air and sensed rain a few hours later. She asked for her first men to set up the shelter. She knew her troops could not fight another losing match again. She looked up. She raised her rapier instinctively, “Who dares to step into my territory? State your name!”

“It is I, Knight Fye D. Fluoride,”the man bowed a little; “I would like to ask for you to retreat back to your country, Princess.”

“What is the point then, to even come and attack your kingdom, brave knight? Perhaps, revealing your face to mine… may allow me to consider what you had just proposed.”

The knight thought for a few seconds and wanted to reveal his face but decided against it. He simply nodded and disappeared into the mist. The princess watched as the knight disappeared. She let down her hair and took off the helmet. Her first men came back and saw her taking off her helmet. “My highness! They may start a fight, please do not…” The princess held up her hand and simply said, “They will not,” and she walked into her own tent.

At the next dawn, Arabasta had set up its protective barrier against its enemy. Knight Fye mounted his horse and looked at the forest, clouded with mist. He tried to shake off the feeling that he had since he had seen the princess but he could not. “Sir, I shall scout the area near the forest,” and the man rode into the forest.

The brave knight stepped onto the rock and took a deep breath. “Dear knight, missing me?” Knight Fye took a deep breath and uttered, “Will you let me see your face? Princess Lisettote.”

Princess Lisettote stared at the lake beyond, “so near yet so far. The world is like this lake,” she threw a pebble into the lake and there was a ripple. “A small conflict may cause a bigger conflict to happen. The whole world may have things happening beneath its surface to cause the whole world to suffer. And yet, there are things in the world that makes people want to live on,” she looked Knight Fye into the eyes, “love.” Princess Lisettote took off her helmet which revealed her long hair and silver eyes. Knight Fye removed his helmet and the Princess saw how his long blue hair was tied back into a ponytail that reached his waist. The Princess saw how charming his fiery red eyes were. Their lips moved closer and the Princess could feel the Knight’s every breath…

The conch horn sounded and the Knight rode back to Arabasta. The Princess eyes stung and she whispered, “Beloved, I wish that we would not cross blades for I am your enemy now.” Princess called to her men, “Men! Prepare for battle. All out!” She mounted her horse and rode into Arabasta.

Every moment lasts forever…

“Princess Lisettote Rin Wolfric Rulphur, do you want to surrender?” The Princess threw her head back and laughed coldly. “Surrender? Arabasta is rightfully Riviera’s!” She turned and waved her hand, “Men! Attack!”

The plain was turned into a battlefield. Blood spilled. Spears broken, arrows shot. Screams after screams. Missiles after missiles. After 3 hours of fighting, Riviera’s knights were down to one - the princess. The princess held onto her rapiers. Knight Fye was commanded to kill her. He loved her and cannot bear to kill her. Still, he charged towards her.

The princess tightened her grip on her rapiers. She charged towards the Knight. Their weapons clashed. The princess dodged right and made an attempt to slash the man’s throat. The knight bent low, low enough to avoid the rapier and made a sky uppercut.

“My beloved…” the man pleaded. He did not wish to kill his sweetheart.

“No, listen to me. I’m so sorry. If time could be reversed. If only we met a bit earlier. I’ve made my choice. Please remember me. I’m sorry…” Tears rolled down her helmet. She took her hands and stabbed herself.

“I love you, Fye.”

It was a blood red dawn. The man grabbed the woman. Why? He could hear the army cheering for him. His blaze of glory. He “killed” the enemy’s princess. He destroyed the enemy. The knight was not happy at all for his beloved had died for him to earn his blaze of glory. If only, if only…

“I love you too, Lisettote. Forever.”
